From Manchester, England, from 1999 with a set of decks and his first 3 records, Dan quickly found himself DJing with long time friend Gus Brown round the bars and clubs of Manchester. Residencies across the city quickly left him hungry to explore new shores and took Dan to the island of Ibiza with a box of records and a passion to get involved in the island’s burgeoning music scene.
In 2003 Dan’s first season in Ibiza led him to become resident at sunset bar Savannah, co-promoter and resident DJ for Jumpstart, and gigs across the Island including the closing party of Eden. This formative summer playing a huge variety of music through the day, to the famous Ibiza sunset, and house music throughout the night really widened Dan’s music tastes and increased his ability to mix different styles of music. This has led to his unique style of soulful house music combined with a passion for disco, soul, funk and everything in between – if it makes you dance it will get played, no matter what the genre.
Today – 11 years on from 3 records and a set of turntables – Dan finds himself in Dubai and fully involved in the Emirates upcoming music scene. From co-promoting and residing for his own monthly soulful house event ‘SessionS’, to bringing the incredible Defected In the House to the region, Dan has a wealth of experience under his belt from the last 4 years in the UAE. This includes residencies at Hive, Hat Club Dubai, Ocean Club, DIVA and the M Deck at Media One with guest appearances at the stunning 360º, Quantum, Sho Cho, Nasimi Beach and for Ministry of Sound and other one off events. Playing with such names as Lenny Fontana, Aaron Ross, DJ Yass, Graeme Park, Sandy Rivera, Soulmagic, DJ Spen and Rasmus Faber has widened Dan’s experience hugely and given him a real edge and a taste for bigger and better things. Dan has now joined the MustHaveSoul team and is looking forward to playing at their hugely popular events with some of the world’s top DJ talent across the UAE.
