Nicc Johnson can count himself as one of Ibiza’s most acclaimed resident dj’s, with a residency at the world famous Pacha nightclub. He has been part of some of the most important club nights in the history of the club and the past summer you could catch him on most nights including Luciano’s Cadenza, Flower Power, David Guetta F*** ME I’M Famous, Subliminal, Defected and the Swedish House Mafia.
But that’s not what its all about. It’s about the music, the passion and the drive to give an audience something more then just a night out, it has to be special.Perhaps it’s this drive and motivation to strive for perfection that has led him to the Funky room as one of four residents. This room has been around for 15 years and has stood the test of time, recently gaining more and more support from the underground clubbers and dj’s too. Nicc has been coming to this room as long as he has been clubbing and is proud to form a part of this dj team in what will be his 4th season. Deejay Mag Spain rates it as one of the best rooms on the Island and maybe even the country. Its one of those places legends like Louie Vega drop in after their set, to enjoy some good music and get involved in the party.
In an industry where individualism is so easily lost, Nicc has set his mark and has slowly been building his unique electronic sound over the years, which has gained him support from the Island residents and has secured him an ever-increasing fan base around the world. His strong track selection and groove in his sets from funky room to main room hitting all sides and sub genres of House Music are a winning formula!
Fairly new on the production circuit he has already left a mark. Starting off with two remixes he did for Seamless records which gained him support from Brazil to Tokyo and sparked interest in the likes of Tony Humphries to Mark Farina. His first original production last year featuring the vocal talents of LT Brown was immediately picked up by DCS Trax and got heavy support on radio from the top dj’s around the world including a special feature on Laurent Garnier’s exclusive radio show. Next up was a his track with fellow production partner Beatmaster G, which was signed by House music pioneer Miguel Migs for his Salted Music imprint. This release made it on to the top 50 most downloaded Jackin House tracks of 2010 on Traxsource, which is a great achievement considering it only got released mid October of that year!
2011 will be an exciting year with lots of his new productions to be released and some very interesting developments in his dj Schedule.
